Gjwangju Biennale mit Pavillonprojekt
Die Gwangju Biennale Foundation, das Instituto Italiano di Cultura di Seoul und die Bomun Welfare Foundation vereinbarten eine Kooperation für Austausch und Zusammenarbeit für ein Pavillonprojekt während der 14. Gwangju Biennale (7.4.- 9.7. 2023) zeitgleich zur Hauptausstellung. Zu den neun teilnehmenden Institutionen dieses Pavillonprojekts gehört u.a. der italienische Pavillon im Dong-gook-Kunstmuseum, das von der Bomun Welfare Foundation betrieben wird. Die Ausstellung dort fördert die Bomun-Stiftung mit 20 Mill.Won (=knapp 15.000 Euro). An dem Pavillonprojekt beteiligt sind in diesem Jahr außerdem das Institut Framer Framed aus Amsterdam, die schweizerische Botschaft in Südkorea, das Centre for Digital Art Holon in Israel, das National Museum of China and China Cultural Center die West Baffin Eskimo Cooperative Limited, eine Inuit Kooperative aus Kinngait (Canada), das polnische Adam Mickiewicz Institut, und die Kulturabteilung der französischen Botschaft in Südkorea. Die Biennale fand erstmals 1995 in der koreanischen 1,4 Millionen-Metropole Gwangju statt und war damals die erste internationale Biennale mit Gegenwartskunst in Asien. Die diesjährige Biennale findet an fünf Orten statt, nämlich in der Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall, dem Gwangju National Museum, Horanggasy Artpolygon, Mugaksa, und demArtspace House.
